Job description

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Head of Human Resources to lead the HR function for one of our prestigious clients in the Oil & Gas sector in Kuwait. This role is critical to aligning human capital strategies with business objectives, driving organizational effectiveness, and fostering a high-performance culture.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy that supports the company’s operational and strategic goals.
  • Lead and oversee all HR functions including talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, compensation & benefits, training & development, and HR compliance.
  • Design and implement a job grading structure that aligns with organizational hierarchy and compensation benchmarks.
  • Establish and manage a competency-based framework for employee development, career planning, and performance management
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the leadership team on people management, workforce planning, and organizational development.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Oversee implementation and optimization of HR systems and technologies (HRIS, ATS, etc.).
  • Lead the development and periodic review of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Kuwait labor laws and international best practices.
  • Monitor HR metrics and provide regular reports and insights to senior management.
  • Manage and mentor the HR team, ensuring professional growth and high standards of service delivery.

Qualifications and Skills :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the oil & gas or energy sector.
  • Mandatory experience in Kuwait, with full working knowledge of Kuwait labor laws and government processes.
  • Proven experience in strategic HR planning, organizational development, and talent management.
  • Hands-on experience in developing grading structures, competency frameworks, and HR policy manuals.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization and manage complex employee relations issues.
  • Experience with HR technologies, HR analytics, and digital transformation in HR is a plus.
  • Arabic language proficiency is preferred; English fluency is required.
