The Technician for Plumbing & Fire Fighting will be responsible for installation and maintenance of pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing requirements, as well as installation and maintenance of the fire protection system which includes all materials associated with fire alarm, sprinkler systems and fire hydrants.
Your Responsibilities
Plumbing
- Work from plans, sketches, blueprints, work orders or other instructions; interpret plans and specifications
- Prepare estimates of time and materials for new construction or repair work
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes for carrying water, sewage, gas and other liquids
- Install, maintain / regulate, repair, and replace plumbing lines, fixtures, fittings and equipment
- Install, repair and test back flow prevention devices
- Maintain inventory of parts, fixtures, tools and other shop equipment
- Inspect work done by contractors for adherence to codes and specifications
- Maintain service records, inspection records, and other documentation / report as needed
Fire Fighting
Install and carry out routine and preventive maintenance of all fire protection and alarm systems and equipment including hoses and hydrantsAttend to any fire related emergenciesCheck and maintain fire protection suppliesIdentify faults and troubleshoot fire systemsComplete necessary documentation / reports pertaining to all work undertaken such as daily maintenance and inspection reports and maintain database and manual filing systemLiaise with Fire Protection Engineer for supply of spare parts and check compliance with standardsLiaise with Project Engineers regarding commissioning of new equipment, review documentation and conduct necessary testsAssists the Fire Inspectors with the fire inspectionsYour Qualifications
