Purpose and Scope of the Job

Implements & monitor clinical guidelines related to medication management, prepare drug utilization &medication error reports review, provides consultations to patients & clinical staff, attends regular clinical rounds, medication verification and dose review, develops programs & prepares articles.

Main Duties and Responsibilities / Performance Standards

  • Clinical Guidelines :  Evaluates, Implement and monitor clinical guidelines for medications used in DASH. Participate in the clinical rounds, Medication verification and dose review.
  • Drug Utilization and Medication error reports.  Develops, reviews, and evaluates retrospective Drug Utilization Review criteria.
  • Consultation : Provides clinical consults on complex retrospective DUR cases and / or medication authorization requests as needed
  • Program Development : Participates in the development and presentation of educational intervention programs.
  • Documentation : proper documentation of all clinical pharmacy interventions through “iCare”
  • Ensures safety standards (occupational and patient safety) are complied.
  • Provides or promotes people centered care.
  • Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Direct Reporting Authority.

Qualifications, Competencies and Skills

Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy

Experience : 2+ years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Licensure : Holder of valid MOH license

Language : High proficiency in Arabic and English Languages.

Computer Proficiency : Good Computer skills

Performance Competencies :

  • Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration.
  • Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and / or infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and Customer service
  • Knowledge of policies and regulations pertaining to the disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
