Buyer - Girlswear

Our client is a multinational retailer in the Middle East with over four decades of experience successfully operating and growing a portfolio of internationally renowned fashion brands. We are assisting them in their search for a Buyer to lead the girlswear category.

This exciting opportunity requires a fluent Chinese or Korean speaker, as the role involves regular travel throughout Asia and frequent engagement with suppliers and manufacturing partners in the region.

Responsibilities:

• Develop seasonal product assortments in line with brand vision and customer preferences .
• Collaborate with planning to define category OTB and SKU count per drop/season.
• Analyse fashion trends, market shifts, and customer behavior to inform buying decisions .
• Participate in fashion weeks, trade shows, and supplier showrooms when applicable.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
• Negotiate cost prices, terms, margins, and delivery timelines to maximise profitability .
• Ensure supplier compliance with company standards, quality, and ethical sourcing policies.
• Finalise product selections in coordination with the design or product team .
• Set initial retail prices in line with margin targets and market benchmarks.
• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams on inbound goods and stock availability.

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Buying, Fashion Merchandising, Business, or related field .
• 3–5 years of experience in buying, product selection, or category management within the fashion retail industry .
• Proven ability to manage product assortments, analyse trends, and deliver margin and sales growth .
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including planning, design, logistics, and retail operations.
• Proficient in Excel, merchandise planning tools, and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar) .
• Chinese or Korean speaker
