Overall Purpose of The Job
The Paramedic will utilize their knowledge and proficiency of evidenced-based medical practice and Intl.SOS protocols to manage unexpected and emergent situations and treat a variety of injuries and illnesses in a prompt and professional manner.
The Paramedic will assume responsibility for assessing, planning,implementing, and evaluating direct and indirect medical care to patients in emergent situations.
She / he will competently function as a member of the team to provide patient centred medical care in the pre-hospital setting.
Key responsibilities
- Provides 24 / 7 365 emergent EMS response on the site.
- Provide paramedicine pre-hospital support to patients within the site, outside the site, and during transfer
to local higher levels of care.
Ambulance operations, EMS response and the subsequent support of the medical team within the clinicare the primary responsibilities
Assist medical providers with medical procedures and treatments as allowed within licensed scope ofwork.
Assessment and documentation of the patient’s vital signs, chief complaint, medical history, prescribedmedications.
Report all changes in patient’s conditions to the medical provider.Proactively and independently administer basic paramedic level care within the standing orders and SOPswithout exceeding your licensed scope of care.,
Assist patients with basic care and activities of daily living, as needed.Provides support and education to help patients make responsible health decisionsMaintains Area of Responsibility (AOR) supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed suppliesRestocking EMS units once supplies are received as well as assisting other clinic operators with restockingCross-train to work within in the clinics, emergency room, and inpatient units.Other duties as assignedJob profile
Required Skills and Knowledge
Ability to assess and treat adult and pediatric patients in pre-hospital setting.Ability to successfully perform ALS interventions in accordance with protocolsAbility to administer medication in adult and pediatric patients in accordance with protocolsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsProficient IT skills including use of electronic medical records systemsEssential Capabilities :

Minimum of 1 year of paramedic experience in a busy 911 systemExperience in a remote setting is preferredPrior military or fire experience preferredQualifications
Hold a current unrestricted US license as a Paramedic - RequiredPossession of a Paramedic Level Certification (NRP) from the National Registry (NREMT) - RequiredCurrent American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification - RequiredTactical Combat Casualty Care or Pre-Hospital Trauma Course– preferredPediatric Advanced Life Support- preferredA valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to deploying. To be considered for the position,
you must have at least 18 months left on your passport before renewal. You must also maintain that passport during your stay.
